Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, says the suspects were rounded up by a combined team of Police and UPDF on Friday last week during training in a bush near Kaiso landing site in Tonya parish in Buseruka Sub county Hoima district.

Joy Bokele, the Lubero territory Administrator, says Congolese government troops have deployed in the area to repulse the rebel attacks on residents. Bokele says the territorial administration is in touch with the North Kivu provincial leadership to ensure residents are protected.
The deployment comes barely two weeks after an attack on Kapchorwa Central Police station by unidentified gunmen who killed policemen, took off with 3 guns and 90 rounds of ammunition. A group calling itself the Uganda Saving Force-USF has since claimed responsibility for the attack in which three lives were lost.
Six people have been killed in Kasese district following an attack. The incident happened on Saturday evening at 4:00pm. According to Rwamijuma, he attributed the attacks to the tribal conflicts between the Bamba and the Bakonzo.
The government forces on the other hand accuse the rebels of provocation. Colonel Olivier Hamuli, the spokesperson of the Congolese army says armed with heavy and light weapons, the rebels tried to advance towards Mabenga village, which is under government forces.
Five men have been arrested at the government Atera ranch in Apac district on suspicion of being involved in rebel activity. Lately the ranch has been a scene of conflict as Apac local government attempts to force settlers off the ranch.
