Mubende, just like many other towns along highways in Uganda, is struggling with the challenge of prostitution involving young girls. The major streets in the town turn into brothels as soon as it gets dark.

Police in Butenga, Bukomansimbi district, are holding a man caught red-handed defiling his 15-year-old daughter. The man Swaliki Lukyamuzi was caught in the act by a neighbour who walked in on the defilement.
Defilement and incest cases in Luweero district have reached alarming proportions. Pacis Namuganza, the Luweero Deputy Resident District Commissioner, says that her office recorded 44 defilement cases last week alone, 15 of which were cases of incest.
