Professor Edward Rugumayo, the Chairperson of the Tooro Elders Forum says that major topics have been selected to be discussed during the two-day event. They are Education, Agriculture, leadership and governance, care for elderly persons in the community and presentation of a report about Tooro Entrepreneurship Symposium which was held last month.
According to Nakyobe, Museveni was angered by Rugambwas decision of ferrying voters to his home without his knowledge. Nakyobe also says that the President is not happy about Rugambwas tactics of extorting money from locals promising to give them onion seeds and mattresses on behalf of the government.
The Government last year launched the Uganda Green Growth Development Strategy UGGDS. The strategy is one of the steps that must be taken by government to achieve the envisaged transformation in an inclusive and environmentally sustainable way.
The report observes that a one-shot stimuli to growth in the last decade could have helped Ugandan agriculture and promoted significant poverty alleviation, but likely will not be able to provide the same level of continued stimulus for new growth.
