The search for the vehicles began a month ago after the police top management reviewed the classified expenditures handed over by Kayihura to his successor, Martin Okoth Ochola.
The decision follows the expiry of a deadline given to Baroza to report to work or else be declared a deserter. Baroza left his duty station in Algeria on June 17th 2018 after he was recalled to the Police headquarters in Kampala for redeployment.
According to a reliable source, Baroza left his post in Algeria on June 17 when he was recalled by the Directorate of Human Resource Administration for redeployment.
Baroza was the former Personal Assistant to the former Inspector General of Police, Kale Kayihura before he was deployed as the Uganda Police Force Liaison Officer to Algeria in 2017. He was recalled to the Police headquarters in May 2018 for reassignment in vain.
According to a source in the intelligence circles, Baroza has been implicated in the murder of slain police boss, Andrew Felix Kaweesi. The Late Andrew Felix Kaweesi was gunned down in Kulambiro, a suburb of Kampala, early this year alongside his Driver Godfrey Mambewa and Bodyguard Kenneth Erau.
According to police sources, Baroza has also been giving orders to senior commanders and police directors since he was elevated from the rank of Superintendent of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police in January 2016.
