Retired Bishop Onweng on Tuesday presented the petition to the speaker`s office demanding that the new district headquarters be established at Ajulu in Patiko Sub County.
At least four different proposals have been drafted to keep the memory Professor Alexander Mwa Odonga alive in Gulu district. Odonga, a veteran surgeon and author, died last week and is due to be buried at the Church Cemetery at St. Phillip Mican, the seat of Gulu Anglican Diocese on Thursday.
