Uganda National Examinations Board UNEB has rated Biology as the worst done subject in the 2016 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education UACE examinations.
The announcement comes at the backdrop of a poor performance of science subjects across the country. The 2016 Uganda Certificate of Education results that were released today indicate that only 45 percent candidates reached the minimum competency level. Physics was recorded as the worst performed subject overall.
Teaching of Science subjects remains a challenge due to the absence of qualified teachers. This, coupled with the absence of science equipment threatens the success of governments mandatory science policy.
