This morning, Kiyonga tabled a motion in parliament under Article 210 (b) and section 40 of the UPDF Act 2005 seeking approval for the deployment of UPDF troops in South Sudan.
. According to the sources, during the meeting Defense minister Crispus Kiyonga justified the deployment of UPDF in South Sudan citing economic, humanitarian and security grounds.
However, his disclosure didn’t go down well with some MPs who argued that the South Sudan government should cover the expense since it sought help from UPDF.
