The money will help in restoration of degraded wetlands in different parts of the country. The eight-year project is supported with a US24.14 million grant from the Green Climate Fund, US2 million from UNDP and US18.12 million in co-financing from the Government of Uganda.
In Uganda, some men reported they would rather avoid knowing their HIV status and receiving life-saving treatment because they associated being HIV-positive with emasculating stigma. One study in South Africa showed that 70 percent of men who had died from AIDS-related illnesses had never sought care for HIV.
Amuriat says he will focus on building party structures in his first 100 days, by appointing an interim Electoral Commission, membership recruitment, updating the membership database, refilling gaps in party structures and continue with consultations on the proposed constitutional amendments, now before parliament.
