About two weeks before the ban was announced, hackers accessed Pegasus systems, the aggregator of MTN, Airtel, Stanbic Bank and Bank of Africa where they authorised mobile money transactions worth Shillings 10 billion to over 2000 Sim Cards registered in names of 40 local firms and foreigners.
Detectives at Criminal Investigations Directorate have arrested a 36-year-old man accused of threatening to kill Ugandan judges in seven days. Assistant Superintendent of Police –ASP Charles Twine, identified the arrested man as, Ivan Samuel Ssebadduka, a resident of Zzana town, along Entebbe Road, in Wakiso District.
The CID Spokesperson, Charles Twine, says Musoke conned between Shillings 2 million and 15 million shillings from his victim with promises of handing them lucrative jobs abroad. Some of the victims, according to Twine, gave the suspect their vehicles since they couldn’t raise the required money in time.
