Recover UGX 15.7 Bn Wrongly Paid to Roko, Parliament Orders Nakawa Naguru land 1 1

Uganda Radio Network- URN learnt that the Land Commission allocated 2 acres of land to ROKO Construction Company Limited in consideration OPEC's 1.7 acres on which ROKO had initially constructed a slab for its client. ROKO also received compensated worth 15.72 billion in lieu of any interest they held in 2 acres earlier allocated to them, inclusive of the slab. This figure is inclusive of 87 percent interest rate per annum. The payment is deemed irregular because as a third party, ROKO had no claim whatsoever against the government.

Police Struggling to Stop Besigye Protest 2

Besigye, who left his home aboard his vehicle fitted speakers, said that he is waking up Ugandans to rise to speak with one voice to the government about the high commodity prices. Tension As Link Bus Catches Fire Gen Katumba Wamala 1 1

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, said that "Our fire prevention and rescue services officers responded on time, fortunately, the fire had been extinguished by other first responders using a nearby fire extinguisher, water, and sand." According to Owoyesigyire, all the passengers escaped unhurt.
