Masindi Port Ferry Breaks Down Two Days After Resuming Operations UNRA 1

Mark Ssali, the UNRA Communication Officer, says they have suspended the operations for six days to allow their engineers to conduct fresh repairs and maintenance. He says the ferry is expected to resume operations on August 25th, 2019. UNRA has described the breakdown as an emergency mechanical fault that occurred on the Ferry ramp system on Tuesday evening.

Mark Ssali, the Communication Officer Uganda National Roads Authority-UNRA, says the ferry that connect Kiryandongo and Apac districts through Masindi port and Kungu route across River Nile is now operational and capable of conducting 22 trips a day.

One Killed in Bar Brawl, Four Held apac district

Bosco Ejap, the Kidilani parish LC II chairperson, says they attempted to save the deceased from the wrath of the suspects in vain since they attacked him in a group. Ejap says they have teamed with police to hunt for the remaining suspect. Police is yet to conduct postmortem on the deceased body to ascertain what could have caused his death.
