Bishop Odurkami was appointed by the retired Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Rt. Rev. Stanley Ntagali to caretake the troubled Kumi Diocese following the failed consecration of Rev. Charles Okunya over inconsistency in his age among other things.
The suspects are Peter Ongodia and his son Simon Ongodia, both residents of Ngora New Village in Ngora district. Police has identified the deceased as Salume Acham, a pupil of Omaditoko Primary School School in the same district.
The deceased, a 45-year-old resident of Kalango village in Ngora Sub County had sought treatment for a swollen knee which Asege chose to cut before applying herbs. However, the cut led to excessive bleeding which, according to the postmortem report, resulted into Akudos death.
Ngora Police are holding five of their own for stealing unspecified amount of money and property from the Ngora accident victims. The victims were traveling aboard a taxi registration number UAV 372A when it veered off the road following a tyre burst and crashed into a tree along Soroti- Mbale High way.
Onespal Opollot, a driver along the route, blames the accident on over-speeding. He says the driver of the ill-fated taxi that was heading to Soroti was speeding when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree.
