The 48-page book titled “Tugambe Olukooki”, meaning Let Us Speak Lukooki, was officially launched at the 17th Coronation Anniversary of the Kamuswaga Apollo Ssansa Kabumbuli II at Kakoma Playground in Lwanda sub-county on Saturday.
Al-Haji Idi Ahmed Kiwanuka, the Kooki Prime Minister, says that they are strengthening the year’s theme to enhance child protection. Kiwanuka argues that girls who are protected and educated have a better chance to have a brighter future compared to those married off early.
In 2011, the Kooki Cultural Leader Apollo Sansa Kabumbuli II launched a campaign to revive the language and possibly phase out Luganda or minimize its dominance among the subjects.
