Narcis Bujune Kabatereine, Chairperson for Kigezi Iron Ore Miners Association and his secretary John Barisigara argue that the company has failed to pay the artisan miners after buying their minerals since 2017. They say that as a result, 40 affected artisan miners under the association are demanding shillings 2 billion.

Captain Apollo Kwesiga aged, 32, attached to Masaka armoured brigade is currently held at Rukiga Police station together with Benon Arinaitwe, 37, a driver and Patience Nsiime.
