Eunice Asiimwe, the Multipurpose Committee Chairperson informed the council that the report neither shows the cost of the land nor its size. She claimed that the executive only informed her committee that the land is found in Nyakayojo and Biharwe without going into details.
Mwesigye says the then Nyakayonjo Division was allocated 26 million shillings for 22 groups under the DDEG program. He adds that during the investigations it was discovered that out of the 22 groups registered only 4 groups were genuine.
Edgar Rwabutwagu, the senior Procurement officer accepted the punishment but pleaded with the leaders noting that the process was followed but the accounting officer then did an error of not submitting the documents to the city executive headed by the city mayor.
The leaders are questioning why Kekijusyo and other technical staff from the engineering department have refused to appear before the committees to answer queries relating to substandard road works in the city.
