The security forces who were deployed in Napeikoroi grounds received intelligence about the suspected warriors possessing illegal firearms. They responded swiftly and recovered two submachine guns number K53 (01 rounds) and NK6899 (09 rounds) from Peter Lomojong and John Lokori respectively.
The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) is set to retire 236 lower rank infantry soldiers who have clocked over 60 years while others are being retired on personal request and medical grounds. According to UPDF Deputy Spokesperson, Col Deo Akiiki Asiimwe, out of 236 soldiers being prepared to retire include nine Captains, 20 Lieutenants while the rests are Non-Commissioned Officers –NCOs.
Dr. Crescent Tumuhaise, the Head of Medics at the medical camp, said that the camp was treating all ailments, however, the majority of the children attended were diagnosed with acute malnutrition, with an average of 20 having mild malnutrition.
