Tuko has transformed his farmland in Lobulio village, Iriiri Sub County, Napak district, into a thriving agricultural model amidst the region’s harsh climatic conditions.
Musherure, the incumbent MP, announced that she was stepping down in favour of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s younger brother, Godfrey Aine Kaguta, commonly known as Sodo, with whom she fiercely contested the NRM flag in the 2021 party primaries.
The accident occurred when a commuter taxi, registration number UBD 160F, en route from Buyende to Kaliro District, lost control and veered into the swamp. All the occupants reportedly drowned and died on the spot as the vehicle sank into the deeper parts of the swamp.
This comes just weeks after a similar terror-related incident earlier this month in Munyonyo, where two individuals described by the UPDF as "armed terrorists" were intercepted and killed by a counter-terrorism unit. One of them was identified as a female suicide bomber.
The deceased, identified as Locham Atudo, was killed on Saturday afternoon, while his accomplice, Apaloko Lochu, sustained serious injuries in the attack. A third suspect, identified as Loila Muron, is currently on the run.
Museveni made the remarks on Saturday while presiding over a thanksgiving ceremony organized by Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja at Mpasana Seed Secondary School playground in Bugangaizi East County, Kakumiro District.
