Kakoma National Organic Agricultural Center in Rakai district has been closed. Kakoma National Agricultural Organic center is located in Lwanda Sub County. Constructed in 1990s, Kakoma has been a research and training center for over 100 agriculture students and farmers focusing on organic farming every academic year.

Foot and Mouth Disease Reported in Kamuli

Dr. Kiiza Waako, the Kamuli district agriculture officer says farmers and agriculture officials are struggling to contain an outbreak of the disease that has forced them to ban the sale of meat in the district. The most affected areas are Kisozi and Bwiiza parishes in Namasagali Sub County where over fifty animals have been found with the disease.
