Lugazi Municipality Mayor Retains Seat elections 1

Deo Mbabazi Tumwesigye won the mayoral seat with 15,102 votes under the National Resistance Movement ticket, beating Social Development Party-SDP candidate JB Aseya Onzuma who garnered 11,011 votes in elections held in March 2016. Aseya however petitioned court challenging the victory of Tumwesigye alleging that the election was not free and fair citing several malpractices.
