Parliament has approved a Shillings 1.6 trillion supplementary budget request by government for the current financial year 2018/2019 part of which is to carter for the ongoing President Yoweri Museveni’s country wide tour on wealth creation.
The laws are Administrator General's Act, Succession Act,1906 and Estates (Small Estates) (Special Provisions) Act,1972. The Estates of Missing Persons Act, 1973 and the Probate Resealing Act,1936 will also be amended.
In a letter addressed to Masaka municipal council signed by George Williams Bizibu, the Executive Secretary of the Departed Asians Property Custodian Board, the board decided to withdraw temporary ownership granted to a businessman Emanuel Lwasa after establishing that Lwasa submitted forged documents to claim ownership of the building.

Total E&P and CNOOC bought Tullow Oil's Uganda interest at USD 900 million (3.4 trillion Shillings), the money that is thought to have paid much of what Tullow had spent in Uganda. The government, however, says that oil companies should not count this money as expenses, which could lower their income tax when Uganda finally starts drilling the hydrocarbons.
