10 More People Test Positive for COVID-19, Cases Rise to 222

All 10 cases are Ugandan nationals who entered the country on Tuesday. Nine of them are truck drivers who entered the country from different points of entry while one case is of a contact to a truck driver. Uganda's number of confirmed COVID-19 cases had risen to 222 after 10 new cases were confirmed from tests conducted on Monday.

All 10 cases are Ugandan nationals who entered the country on Tuesday. Nine of them are truck drivers who entered the country from different points of entry while one case is of a contact to a truck driver. According to the health ministry, the contact was already under quarantine by the time samples were taken for testing.

Another 30 positive truck drivers were sent to their countries of origin. The number of truck drivers who have been returned stands at over 250.

The new cases were detected from 1,189 samples that picked from both the community and different points of entry. 153 samples were picked from the community while 1,037 were from points of entry.
