Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson told URN in an interview that drug theft in government health facilities in Acholi Sub –Region is becoming so rampant. Okema suspects that such rampant theft could be linked to the mushrooming drug shops within the communities operated by some health workers.
Joel Christopher Luwum, a resident of Patuda Parish, says that the suspects and others still at large waylaid the deceased on Friday evening on his way from Forgod Trading Center and assaulted him leaving him with multiple injuries.
Jonan Kiiza, the Head of Communications at Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited revealed that the government procured 2,000 under the free electricity connection policy and that the meters are undergoing quality test for certification at Uganda National Bureau of Standards and that more meters shall be procured.
The cases were registered between September 12th last year and January 20th this year. They include unlawful assembly contrary to section 65 and 66 of the Penal Code Act, defacing of campaign posters contrary to section 78(2) of the Presidential Election Act, defamation and inciting violence.
