picked up the suspected mastermind of a robbery at Pita petrol station in
Kamuli district on Sunday night, which claimed the life of a security guard.
Gabulila, a former security guard with Blue Light Security Company was picked
up on Tuesday morning from Kisaikya village in Namasagali Sub County where he
was in hiding.
He was treating
gunshot wounds using local herbs, which raised the suspicion of residents
prompting them to notify police.
one of the security guards said he shot one of the assailants in the leg after
they were fleeing the scene.
“I didn’t see
any of the assailant’s faces as they were all covered in hoods. But I remember shooting one of them in the
right leg before running away, and the same injury is reflected on Gabulila’s
body,” he said.
Ahmed Madiri, the Kamuli District Police Commander
told URN that the suspect has failed to explain why he didn’t go to hospital after
suffering bullet wounds.
He also says Gabulila has failed to explain why he was
present at the scene of crime.

earlier story run by URN, two gunmen riding on a motorcycle stormed Pita petrol
station and shot dead the security guard identified as Richard Wani.
They also shot three people who were fueling
their motorcycles and sped off. One of the gunshot victims
identified as Lincoln Mugabi, said the assailants were dressed in black hoods.
"The assailants were donned in black hoods.
They shot the pump attendant twice in the head, snatched his money bag before
shooting at us," he said.
