Man Hacks Fiance's Children, Torches House

The children have been identified as 18-year-old Doreen Nagawa and his ten-year-old brother, Ben Makumbi. They were offsprings of Segawa's fiancee Josephine Namakula, a businesswoman in Mubende town.

Police in Mubende is investigating an incident where one Ronald Ssewanya alias Saddam, a self-styled pastor locked up himself in a house with two children and torched it. The incident took place in Kirungi B village in Mubende Municipality on Sunday.

The children have been identified as 18-year-old Doreen Nagawa and his ten-year-old brother, Ben Makumbi. They were offsprings of Segawa's fiancee Josephine Namakula, a businesswoman in  Mubende town.

Mubende District Police Commander, Julius Ahimbisibwe suspects that the incident could have been a crime of passion.

Namakula’s elder son, Derrick Sekiziyivu and one of the survivors says that their mother was away, when Ssewanyana arrived at their home and requested them to allow him to stay for a night as he waited for her to return.

Sekiziyivu, however, says that Ssewanyana turned against them in the middle of the night and hacked his siblings to death before he torched the house. 

Police retrieved the bodies and took them to Mubende Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem before they are handed over to the relatives for burial.
