According to LC5 Chairperson Kosea Kigayi Kimono, the Ministry has already disbursed an initial 400 million shillings to kick-start the project. The new structure will house a council hall, a health centre, and office spaces that will be rented out to generate local revenue for the district.
Julian Kahiju, the Acting Manafwa District Engineer, confirmed on Monday that construction work will begin this week, starting with site preparation and laying the foundation. She noted that, if funds are released on schedule, the project is expected to be completed within two years.
The district leadership has called on the public to support the project, which is anticipated to significantly enhance Manafwa’s infrastructure and elevate the image of the district with a modern administrative headquarters.
