There was drama at Nakatiba Landing Site in Bujumba Sub-County in Kalangala District on Wednesday during the campaign meeting of Ssemaala Lwanga, the Bujumba County National Unity Platform-NUP parliamentary candidate.

It all started after the village executive resolved not to allow the pinning of the campaign poster of any presidential candidate near their offices until they get the posters of all candidates. However, NUP supporters demanded in vain for the campaign poster of their presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu before Ssemala's campaign meeting could start.

This prompted the residents to shun the meeting insisting that they will only attend when the poster is pinned up. It was not until the area LC I Chairperson, Paul Mwanje allowed the NUP supporters to temporarily pin Kyagulanyi’s posters around the offices that Ssemala’s meeting started.

Ronald Yiga, the Nakatiba Landing site LC I vice-chairperson, says they had pinned up some posters despite the resolution by the committee members but they were plucked off by unknown people. He explains that as a result, they resolved to get the posters of all presidential candidates before allowing anyone to pin up the poster of their candidate.

He explains that each voter has his or her candidate and as LCs they can’t satisfy everyone’s demands. Yiga has promised to convene meeting to revise their resolution on pinning campaign posters in and around the LC offices.
