Three held in Bushenyi over Counterfeit Cash

Police in Bushenyi district are holding three people on charges of dealing in counterfeit currencies.   

Martial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi region police spokesperson says that the three were arrested after they gave 1.7 million shillings to a businessman Andrew Bweyare in Bushenyi town.

Tumusiime identified the suspects as Angela Kamayonza a fruit vendor in Bushenyi town, Rachael Katusime a resident of Kyeizooba Sub County and leader Meshach Tindyebwa, a resident of Rwengoma in Kabarole district.

The three have reportedly been working with some other agents to circulate the counterfeit money in question and had managed to circulate millions of money into the public.    

Tumusiime says that the suspects are being held at Bushenyi police station in Bushenyi district.  //Cue in “abantu aba kutu…. Cue out:……esente zebicupuri:”//

Julian Asiimwe a resident of Ishaka –Bushenyi Municipality says that the traders in the area have been suffering at the hands of people who have been distributing counterfeits and causing them loses.
