11 Held Over Rebel Activities in Hoima

Hoima Police have arrested eleven people accused of being involved in subversive activities.

The suspects are Denge Kamuhanda 38, Jimmy Ochai 32, Ngoi Faluma 33, Maditrwoth 25, Ajaru Munguriek 25, Ismail Munguriek 18, Jackson Mugisa 26, Foste Bedi 22, Jaloka Ochiro 30, Lungu Lokona 22 and Ajaruva Ovon 20.

He says police acted on intelligence that there was a group of people training in the area.  Hakiza, says the suspects, majority of whom are from the Democratic Republic of Congo, had spent three months conducting military drills in the area. However, no military equipment was found at the camp.

The suspects are in custody at Hoima Central Police Station while the hunt continues for the remaining suspect. Hoima district borders the Democratic republic of Congo, which is home to remnants of the rebel Allied Democratic Forces-ADF.
