Federation of Uganda Football Association-FUFA Women Super League Season returns
to action on Monday 19th 2021 after spending a year of inactivity due to the suspension
of sports activities in the country because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s edition of the women league will however be played in a tournament
format. It will comprise ten teams divided into two groups in the normal
season. The league will take place at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru
in Buikwe district with Makerere University facing off with Uganda martyrs’
ladies team in the season opener.
Group A Includes Makerere University, Kawempe Muslim,
Kampala Queens, Tooro Queens, Uganda Martyrs HS while group B comprises the She
Corporate, UCU Lady Cardinals, Lady Doves, Isra Soccer Academy, Olila High School.
Decolus Kiiza, the FUFA Deputy CEO in
charge football, says the league will be played in two phases with the first
group playing from Monday 19th to Saturday 25th and the second group will take
over from April 26th to 1st of May.
"It will be one group at a time, we
don't have enough space at Njeru, one group will come and play
to get the two leaders and then the second group will also come," Kiiza
told URN. He says they will hold the semi-finals and finals on May 3 and 5
respectively with the table leader in the first group facing the second one in
group two and Vice Versa.
Clubs have embraced the league and hope for better performance. Ayub Khalifa,
