The Grade One Magistrate Court in Iganga has remanded 31 rioters to
Busesa prisons in Bugweri District on the charge of inciting violence
Kyagulanyi has been since detained at Nalufenya detention facility
however, his arrest sparked off protests in the different trading centers
within Iganga town.
According to the charge sheet, the suspects have been charged with inciting
violence contrary to section 83(i) of the penal code act.
“The accused incited members of the public to do acts of violence
against police officers and other government institutions by burning and stoning
vehicles after the arrest of Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu," states the
charge sheet in part.
However, two juveniles were released on bond.

On
Thursday, Kyagulanyi's lawyers led by Anthony Wameri had anticipated that their
client would be presented to court today but it didn't happen.
Police officers have also declined to reveal when Kyagulanyi shall be presented
to the court and under which charges.
