Six Arrested Over Hoima Man's Brutal Murder

The suspects whose names have been concealed for fear of jeopardizing police investigations are accused of allegedly murdering Domian Byaruhanga, a resident of Kifumura village in Kyohairwe parish Buhanika sub county of Hoima district.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson confirmed the arrest and detention of the suspects to URN.
Police in Hoima are holding six suspects in connection with the brutal murder of a man, identified as Domian Byaruhanga.

The suspects whose names have been concealed for fear of jeopardizing police investigations are accused of murdering Domian Byaruhanga, a resident of Kifumura village in Kyohairwe parish Buhanika sub county Hoima district.    

One of the suspects is a woman, and all six are residents of Kifumura village.

The murder was committed on February 22,2021 in Kifumura village Buhanika sub county at around 1p.m.     

It is alleged that Byaruhanga picked a quarrel with the six suspects over yet unknown reason while at a drinking joint in Kifumura trading center and in the process they ganged against him and clobbered him to death. 

They severally hit Byaruhanga on the head with a blunt object, killing him instantly. 

     

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson told Uganda Radio Network on Tuesday that when police was alerted and rushed to the crime scene, they managed to arrest the six suspects who participated in the brutal of the deceased.       

They alleged killers were immediately whisked to Hoima Central Police station where they are currently being detained.    

Hakiza says once police investigations are done, the suspects will be arraigned before court to be charged with murder.

Meanwhile the body of the deceased was picked and taken to Hoima Mortuary pending postmortem.

Police in the Albertine are decrying the escalating murder cases in the region.

Last week alone fourteen murder cases were recorded in the region.
