72-Year-Old Missing Man Found Dead in Omoro

It is the fourth gruesome murder incident reported in Omoro district in less than 30 days since the beginning of the year.

An 72 year old man who went missing on Saturday in Omoro district has been found dead. The deceased, Sarafino Erem aged 72, was a peasant farmer and resident of Awimon Ward, Palwo parish in Bobi Sub-County.

Erem’s body was discovered on Tuesday by residents from neighbouring Bar Mwogo Ward, Patek Parish in Bobi. It alleged that he could have been killed by unknown assailants.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson confirmed the incident saying the scene of crime officers were dispatched to area to conduct further investigations.

It is the fourth gruesome murder incident reported in Omoro district in less than 30 days since the beginning of the year.

Last month, 21-year-old Prossy Apiyo was found murdered alongside her six-month-old baby in Oluba village, Kal parish in Ongako Sub-County. Local residents have linked the homicide to Vincent Onencan, the husband to the deceased still at large.

Early in January this year, a Job Okot Acellam, 41, burnt to death his estranged wife, Akongo Vicky aged 38, with petrol from Rom village, Pageya parish in Koro Sub County.
