Isaac Mulindwa Ssozi, the newly elected Lugazi municipality legislator has lost his parliamentary seat due to lack of the requisite academic qualifications.
Ssozi was kicked out of parliament this morning by Justice Margaret Mutonyi in her judgment on an election petition filed by his rival, Dr. Nabatanzi Lugudde.
Court found that Mulindwa lacks the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) certificate. In her petition, Dr. Nabatanzi Lugudde accused Mulindwa of using the certificate of Hassan Mulindwa, which amounts to impersonation
Court also noted that Mulindwa didn't possess the National Identity card to prove that he is a citizen. Court has ordered Electoral Commission to conduct fresh elections.
The ruling comes days after High Court in Kampala threw out Busiro South MP, Peter Ssematimba on grounds that he lacks the requisite academic qualifications.
