Laboratory Technician Survives Lynching Over Drug Theft

Geoffrey Arago, a laboratory technician attached to Chawente Heath center III in Apac district following an attack by residents for alleged theft of drugs.

Arago was assaulted together with George Ekwari, a boda boda by residents who found them in possession of government drugs.

Geoffrey Eling Owera, the Apac District Health and Education Secretary, says residents rounded up the duo at 4:00am on Sunday after their motorcycle broke down at Arweny Village, Chawente Sub County.

He says residents found the suspects with a box of assorted drugs including coatem and malaria kits weighing more than 20 kilograms. 

Owera says the mob descended on the duo and assaulted them. They were rushed to Apac Hospital where they are currently admitted under tight security.

She said her office was also investigating Arago for allegedly conning resident Shillings 2.7 million.
