Archbishop Beinomugisha Laments Death Culture's Replacing Life Culture

The Installation of His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha as the second Chancellor of the University of St. Josephs’ Mbarara was conducted by Rt. Rev. Anthony Zziwa, the Chairperson of the Uganda Episcopal Conference in accordance with the regulations of National Council for Higher Education. Beinomugisha replaces the Emeritus Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese Most Rev Paul Bakyenga who is also the founder of the University.

The Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese Lambert Beinomugisha has decried the lost value for culture in respect to life.

Archbishop Beinomugisha says that the challenges faced in Uganda and the world over today as seen in the current events in homes, streets in towns and social media show lack of respect for human life; a hard reality that as the culture of life is  being aggressively eroded by the culture of death.

Beinomugisha who was on Wednesday Installed as the new Chancellor of University of St Joseph’s Mbarara says educational institutions and religious house of formation should find way of instilling in the life of young stars the restoration of culture and ethical social values that respect the value of human life.

“May the chaplains present and future of this university and institutions everywhere work hand in hand with bodies of governance and government to put in place guidelines and policies that teach the present and future generations how to safe guard life in its entirety,” he prayed.

Rt. Rev. Anthony Zziwa the Chairperson of the Uganda Episcopal Conference decried the increasing challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic that have adverse effects on human life.

He says the challenges which are mainly poverty and unattainable inequalities noting that this may not end soon.

He urged institutions to adopt and become proactive to the post Covid-19 situations since teaching and learning have been inevitably affected by the lockdown which necessitated rapid development of online methods implementation of curricula.
