Arrow Boy Arrested for Murder

Police in Katakwi have arrested an arrow militia fighter for murder.

Private John Imalingat, attached to Aketta military detach in Usuk County, Katakwi district,is alleged to have shot and killed a two-year-old girl, during a scuffle with his ex-wife, in Aketta Internally Displaced Peoples camp in Katakwi district.

Katakwi district police commander, Ubaleo Bamunoba, says that Imalingat broke into a house of his former wife, Helen Amulen on Wednesday night, and attempted to rape her. Imalingat then pulled the trigger and shot the girl, after the woman refused to heed to his sexual advances.

Bamunoba says that another girl was injured by a stray bullet and is admitted at Soroti Hospital.
