Auditor General's Office Starts Validation of Gulu University Staff

The audit team is headed by Isiko Mark, an auditor from the Gulu Regional Auditor`s office, and will target at least 600 staff who are believed to be on the University`s payroll.

The Office of the Auditor General has kicked off the headcount and validation exercise of Gulu University staff.  The four-day exercise that started on Monday will end on Thursday.

The audit team is headed by Isiko Mark, from the Gulu Regional Auditor's office, and will target at least 600 staff who are believed to be on the University`s payroll.

This is part of the ongoing headcount for all public staff announced by the Ministry of Finance last month.

Isiko informed the Gulu University Management that the results of the exercise would report the July 2023/2024 payroll, adding, that the government would not pay those who will miss the head count. 

Professor George Ladaah Openjuru, the Gulu University Vice Chancellor however informed the team some of the staff are on study and others are on sick leave. He promised full support to the validation teams.

The auditors asked members of the university management to compile the list and submit it to them before the deadline. 

James Onono Ojok, the Gulu University Spokesperson urged all staff to comply with the headcount and validation exercise.

All staff are required to have in possession a national identity card, work identity card, appointment letter, confirmation letter, and promotion letter in any case.
