Division Arua City are excited over the donation of a borehole to enable them
access clean and safe water.
The borehole estimated to cost UGX 20 million was lobbied for by
Pastor John Justine Enyetu of Turbunacle Faith Ministries with support from
American Missionaries following reports of increased domestic violence as
people struggle for a clean source of water from the nearby stream, while

During the ground breaking ceremony to start the drilling of the
borehole, Michael Ezua, the LC 1 of Ocolini village said they have been
registering cases of fights among women as they struggle for the only source of
water in the area.
According to Ezua, the borehole will help reduce on cases of
fights among women and also minimize on cases of waterborne diseases since they now have a clean and safe source of water.

Some of the locals of Ocolini village who spoke to
URN expressed excitement over the donation and said once completed, the only
borehole in the area will enhance access to clean water as well as save time
for women to do other domestic chores.

Geoffrey Feta, the Member of Parliament for Ayivu East
urged the locals to make better use of the borehole to improve their well being

called on the residents in the area to own the water project and ensure its
made use of in a responsible manner.

According to the leaders in Ayivu division, residents
of Ocolini village will require deliberate programmes to improve services in
the area, which has never had any government project since it was under Ayivu
County.
