Bugisu Cooperative Union-BCU has started opening boundaries and re-titling all its lands as a way of preventing encroachers.

John Musila, the BCU Vice Chairperson and Member of Parliament representing Bubulo East says that people have forged land titles and grabbed 100 hectares of their land part located at Bunambutye Sub County in Bulambuli district.

He adds that during the Annual General Meeting held last month, farmers asked the board members to open boundaries and placemark stones and re-titling all their lands.

Isaiah Sasaga Wanzira, the Budadiri East Member of Parliament in Sironko district says that the exercise will be rolled out in all areas in the region, where BCU owns the land.

He adds that BCU has lots of land at Bugisu and most of it has been encroached on.

Sasaga also said that after boundary opening and re-titling all BCU land, the land will be hired out people at a cheaper cost for farming activities as one way of scaring away new occupants.
