The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate, Dr. Kizza Besigye says the ongoing land grabbing across the country is a deliberate move by government to among other things leave Ugandans powerless.

Speaking to supporters in Kayunga, Besigye said there is continued land grabbing in all parts of the country apart from Kigezi region, where he says there is no land to be grabbed.

Besigye asked the people of Kayunga and other parts of the country to join him in demanding for a commission of inquiry into the stolen land and review what he calls weak land laws.

He was addressing rallies in Baale, Kitimbwa, Busana, Bukamba, Nazigo, Kangulumira sub-counties and Kayunga town council in Kayunga district on Tuesday.

Besigye did not mention any person in particular who grabs peoples land.

Besigye was accompanied by Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, MPs Moses Kasibante and Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, and Lubaga Division Mayor Joyce Ssebugwawo.
