The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Luwero, Rt. Rev. Wilson Kisekka has banned Local Council 1 meetings from taking place within churches under his jurisdiction. The announcement follows reports of several such meetings being held in churches.
The Bishop emphasized that churches are sacred spaces deserving of respect, stating that these gatherings should be held in alternative venues. Furthermore, he has prohibited the rental of church property, particularly chairs.
The Prelate warned that priests who permit these meetings or engage in renting out church property may face disciplinary action. He made these statements during the commissioning of a new church dedicated to St. Stephen in Nakabululu, located within the Luteete Archdeaconry in Luwero District.

The newly commissioned church was funded through contributions from parishioners, led by Ddungu David. During the event, attendees also raised 712,000 Shillings toward the construction of the Diocesan Synod Hall.
