The National Unity Platform (NUP) President,Robert Kyalgulanyi
alias Bobi Wine has criticized a section of politicians for fueling hatred among Ugandans.
The former presidential candidate said on Sunday that several politicians
in the country are taking advantage of the demise of former
Speaker pf Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah to create hatred, especially between the
Acholi and Buganda.
He explained that it is unrealistic for politicians to
promote disunity instead of fighting for a common goal and promoting good
governance in the country. The NUP President was addressing hundreds of congregants at Holy Rosary Church in
Gulu City's weekly Sunday mass.
Bobi Wine was accompanied by Dr. Olara Otunnu, of the
Uganda People`s Congress Party, Rev. Fr. Charles Onen, the Member of Parliament
for Gulu East Constituency, Former Member of Parliament for Gulu Municipality
Lyandro Komakech, and NUP Northern Regional President Lina Zadriga among
others.
He is expected to travel later today to Lalogi Sub County to pay tribute
to the fallen Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah who was laid to rest on
Friday.
Earlier during the same mass, Gulu City West Member of Parliament
Charles Onen demanded that Bobi Wine apologizes to the Acholi community
over the utterance and demonstration by a section of NUP party members and
Buganda over the treatment of the Late Speaker Jacob Oulanyah in the USA.

Cue out: …you, apwoyo matek.’’//
Bobi Wine, however, explained that Ugandans both in the diaspora
and back home regardless of their political affiliations and tribes were
protesting against bad governance and demanding better health services among
others.
//Cue in: ‘’those people were…
Cue out: …tribe and destinations.’’//
Rev. Fr. Justin Erick Uma, the Parish Priest of Holy Rosary who
presided over the mass cautioned politicians in the country against hypocrisy
and bad governance.
//Cue in: ‘’let us continue…
Cue out: …life of hypocrisy.’’//
He warned that the church leaders will not hesitate to rally the
masses to protest and remove bad leaders from power. His statements were welcomed
with ululation from the congregation.

At the same mass, legislator Rev. Fr. Charles Onen disclosed
that the Ker Kwaro is investigating claims that Oulanyah was poisoned.
