Mbabali committed suicide by drowning on Friday afternoon. Residents tried to search for his body from the lake in vain until it was found last evening. The deceased’s body is scheduled to be transported this morning to his ancestral home in Mawogola for burial.
The
body of the fisherman who drowned himself in Lake Victoria after torching his
property at Nkose Landing Site in Kalangala district has been recovered.
Mbabali's body was found around 100
meters away from the shoreline of Nkose Landing Site on Saturday evening.

Information Secretary has appealed to the district authorities to consider
providing counselling services to fishermen to avoid similar occurrences.

At least four fishermen have committed suicide
