District.
The body was
discovered on Thursday by residents of Kibutamu village. Ssembuuze, a resident
of Kitiiti village in Kyanamukaaka sub-county, Masaka district went missing Wednesday
while returning from Kyotera.
His family
members got concerned when he did not return home that very night and his phone
had been switched off.
According to
residents, the trader was waylaid by unknown assailants who strangled him to death
and hid his body in the bush. The assailants later took his motorcycle and an
unknown sum of money.
Isma
Ssentongo, one of the residents, suspects that Ssembuuze must have picked unknown
people on the way back home who turned against him. He adds that they
found a pile of polythene bags near his body.

Police
detectives led by Emmanuel Tumukunde took the body to Kalisizo hospital
mortuary for a postmortem as investigations into the incident continue.
