Faizal Kadama, a resident of Bugiri town council, has been arrested for selling expired drugs to members of the public.
Kadama was picked up today from his drug shop along market street in Bugiri town council, where he was found selling the expired drugs.
Several boxes of expired drugs containing Ampiciline capsules, quinine, fansider and paracetamol were impounded from the drug shop and taken to Bugiri Central Police station.
Some of the drugs expired three to four months ago.
The raid on Kadama's drug shop stems from numerous complaints to authorities from members of the public on the rampant sell of expired drugs in the district.
Dan Byaruhanga, the Bugiri District Police Commander says that they are trying to investigate whether Kadama has other accomplices who have been distributing expired drugs in rural areas.
He says Kadama will be charged in court when investigations are complete.
