Builder Falls to Death

A builder has fallen off the third floor of a building in Kabale municipality and died. The incident occurred on Tuesday at around 1:30pm along Mutambuka road in Kabale municipality.

29-year- old Bosco Nuwandinda, a resident of Mwirandizo village in Kitumba Sub County, fell off the building after the timber he was walking on gave way.

Medard Kwarisima, an eye witness, says that the deceased stepped on a rotten piece of wood, which split into two sending him crashing to the ground. Kwarisima says some of the wood they have been using to access the building is too weak because it has been in place for over a year. 

Ali Karama, the proprietor of the building, told URN that Nuwandinda hit his head and died while being rushed to Kabale Referrral hospital for treatment.

He also denied claims that the timber that the builders were using was too old.  

Elly Maate told, the Kigezi regional police spokesperson says they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. 

Police later handed over the body of the deceased to his relatives for burial after an autopsy was carried out at Kabale regional referral Hospital.
