The five suspects who have refused to reveal the whereabouts of the guns are said to have been handed the guns by the mother of one of the suspects only identified as Salim immediately after he was arrested.
Police has arrested five suspects in a gun search in Bukedea District.
The arrest follows an operation headed by, the Director Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Directorate (CIID) ,Grace Akullo.
The five suspects are said to have recieved the the guns from a mother, to one of the suspects only identified as Salim. Salim is also in detention.
Akullo confirmed the arrest to Uganda Radio Network but declined to divulge further information.
A source privy to the ongoing investigations in Busoga region told Uganda Radio Network that the search was as a result of information obtained from one of the suspect in the Busoga murders.
A suspect who was arrested at a later stage of investigations told detectives during interrogation that their leader Salim told him while at Nalufenye Police Station where the four guns were kept.
Salim had refused to reveal where the guns were being hidden. Police then arrested Salim\'s mother from Bukedea prompting her son to provide the required information required.
Detectives are currently interrogating the five suspects arrested in Bukedia before the next operation in search of the guns.
