Joseph Kamuli, the Bukomansimbi district DP Organizing Secretary, accuses the implicated officials for double dealing between DP and the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM party.
The others are; Isaac Lwanga, the Butenda sub county district councilor, also district’s DP mobilization secretary and Holix Yiga, the Party vice chairperson for Bukomansimbi North constituency.
Five Democratic
Party-DP officials in Bukomansimbi district are facing dismissal from their positions
for allegedly plotting against the party and being double agents.
They are Milly Namirembe, the Bukomansimbi North Woman
councilor, Andrew Kigozi, the Bukomansimbi District Party Secretary, John Bosco
Kasenge, the Bukomansimbi DP party Spokesperson and Bigasa Sub county Deputy
speaker, Isaac Lwanga, the Butenda sub county LC V Councilor and District DP
mobilization secretary and Holix Yiga, the Bukomansimbi North constituency DP vice
chairperson.
The Bukomansimbi District DP Executive
Committee convened on Friday and
resolved to suspend the leaders citing disloyalty to the party.
Joseph Kamuli, the Bukomansimbi district DP Organizing
Secretary, accuses the implicated officials for double dealing between DP and
the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM party.
He says despite holding elective party positions within DP
structures, the implicated party officials have become disloyal to DP in favor
of NRM.
According to
Kamuli, the affected leaders are openly canvassing political support for the
Youth State Minister Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, who harbors intentions of
unseating the incumbent Bukomansimbi district woman member of parliament and DP
flag bearer, Veronica Nanyondo.
He explains that DP party leadership in the
district has summoned the implicated officials to give them a fair hearing
before a final decision is taken.

Moses Lugemwa,
another DP leader accuses their colleagues of deliberately distancing them from
party activities which raises suspicions.
John Bosco Kasenge, one of those facing dismissal from the
party, says they are not moved by what he described as illogical threats.
He says they have a right to belong anywhere they want until when
the campaign period is declared open by the Electoral Commission.

The dispute in Bukomansimbi
district comes at a time when the DP Party President General, Norbert Mao and the
Butambala County, Member of Parliament Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi over the party
presidential flag bearer in the 2021 elections.
