National Unity Platform supporters in Bundibugyo District are accusing security personnel of blocking their supporters from accessing the campaign venue.

Presidential candidate Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi is expected in the District on Tuesday.

The campaigns are scheduled to be held at Kirumya playgrounds in Kirumya Sub County.

Vincent Baluku says security personnel who include the police and UPDF has mounted roadblocks along all routes leading to the venue thus denying people access.

He adds that they have been told by those manning the checkpoints that they got orders to regulate all persons who are coming to the venue from the RDC.  He questions why campaigns are that restricted in a democratic country.

Tuhairwe Asiimwe another supporter wants the deployment to be regulated and put out of the routes connecting to the venue.

Franklin Muhindo, the NUP District Chairperson says they had a harmonized program with the district security committee but wonders why they have mounted roadblocks in every point leading to the venue.

He says they are planning to move to another venue they feel people can easily access.
