Voters in the Bunyoro sub-region are demanding for violence-free
elections as the country gears for tomorrow’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
The voters say that the Electoral Commission should play its crucial and
critical role by ensuring that the elections are free and fair. They also want the losers in the elections to
accept defeat or use all the legal means available to challenge the elections rather
than resort to violence.
Ibrahim Lutaya, a voter in Kikuube district says any situation
that could put this country into agony after the elections must not be
tolerated. He wants the electoral commission to take charge of the whole
electoral process to ensure that peace prevails in the country.

Brian Asaba, a Boda Boda rider in Hoima City calls on all
youths across the country to ensure that they desist from any forms of violence
during and after the elections saying violence could lead to bloodshed, death
and destruction of the economy.

Fred Twinomujuni, a voter in Kakumiro district says voters should
do everything within their means to reject violence and agitate for free, fair
and peaceful elections.

Gabriel Dema, a voter in Hoima City says violence in elections must not be
tolerated since they are meant to destabilize the country.

Jasper Baguma, a voter in Buliisa Wants the Electoral Commission
to conduct a credible free and fair election as stipulated in the constitution.

Paul Bukenya, the spokesperson of the electoral commission says
the commission has finalized all the processes to ensure that the elections are
successful.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says as
security personnel, they are ready to ensure that there is peace during the
whole electoral process.
He says police is ready to deal with anyone who will cause mayhem
during the elections.
